Frequently Asked Questions

If you don’t find an answer to your question below, please feel free to contact us and we will be in touch.

You do not need a referral to see an Occupational Therapist and can book an appointment directly by contacting us.

The Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM) framework (including GP Management Plan and Team Care Arrangement) has been streamlined into the new GP Chronic Condition Management Plan (GPCCMP) model from 1 July 2025. The GPCCMP allows children with a chronic or medical condition to receive a rebate towards Allied health services. Contact your local GP to find out if you are eligible. This will allow you to claim a rebate from Medicare for a maximum of 5 sessions, per calendar year. Parents are responsible for covering the gap between the rebate and the fees for the sessions.

Please note we are unable to offer services under the Medicare Mental Health Plans.

Children must be present for all sessions when using a GPCCMP under Medicare. Sessions attended without a child present are privately funded and therefore out of pocket.

Better Me Therapy is a private billing practice and therefore, we do not bulk bill.

Yes, private health insurance rebates may be available to you depending on your private health insurer and your individual plan. It is best to check with your insurer on whether or not you are eligible for a rebate. Please note that we do not send through claims on your behalf to your private health insurer. You will be emailed a receipt, which you can submit to your insurer for a claim. You are unable to claim for a Medicare and private health rebate for the same session

An email will be sent to you with digital personal background form and service agreement (via our secure online platform). Once you have completed this form your initial appointment will be confirmed with you. The information you provide will help to guide your child’s individual therapy needs and assist the therapist in planning for the session.

Unfortunately, Better Me Therapy is not registered with NDIS. We do however welcome self-managed NDIS clients and some NDIS Plan Managed clients.

When booking an appointment, the time is reserved specifically for your child. We understand that sometimes things come up unexpectedly but ask that wherever possible, you let us know with as much time as possible if you need to cancel the appointment. This allows us to offer the time to another child, who is waiting to see the therapist.

100% of the service fee is charged if the notice is given within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment time.   Â
